On Monday, Smriti Irani had tweeted a video in which an elderly woman can be seen claiming that she was forced by the polling officer to cast her vote for the Congress party and not for the BJP.
Indian Textiles Minister and BJP candidate from Amethi, Smriti Irani is not one to hold back her punches. In this exclusive interview to Khaleej Times, she says the Congress is a spent force and the Mahagatbandhan (alliance) is doomed. Smriti says the BJP will win an absolute majority under PM Narendra Modi.
In the video, the man says, “When I admitted the patient, and went there with the Ayushman card, I was told this is Congress and Rahulji’s hospital and not Modi and Yogi’s hospital. I was told Ayushman card won’t work here.”
In Amethi, Smriti is pitted against Congress president Rahul Gandhi. In 2014 too, Smriti fought against Rahul from this parliamentary constituency but the Congress president had won by a comfortable margin of over 1 lakh votes.
